Download it now and get the most modern 3D printing workflow available. Read the release notes for a full rundown of changes.Īll of these features and more are available in Ultimaker Cura 4.3 today. This version addresses a number of issues from previous versions, including tray icons remaining after application close, silent mode installation and uninstallation, ‘arrange all models’ and much more. Nubnubbud has added a new theme for colorblind users which makes more distinction between colors, such as the yellow/green line colors in the layer view. A drop down selection box has been added to custom mode, giving you a list of presets to place the z seam on your model.Ĭolorblind assist theme. This is especially useful for small perimeters such as printed holes, as they tend to get ripped away from the build plate easily due to their low contact area.Įasy selector for z seam positions. Z seams are now easier to position on your model, thanks to a contribution by trouch. Smartavionics has contributed a setting which recognizes small perimeters and reduces print speed in order to boost the reliability and accuracy of small printed features. This reduces weak points in your model, at the cost of an additional travel move. Randomize infill start. Randomize which infill line is printed first. Input a set of angles you want lines generated at, and these will be placed sequentially throughout your 3D print. Choose the angle that support-infill and interfaces print at, thanks to a contribution from vgribinchuck. Cura 15.04.6 said the print would take 24 min and it actually took 32 min 17 seconds. I have the firmware from 15.04.9 installed on the Ultimaker 2+ Cura 14.09 said the print would take 25 min and it actually took 25 min 48 seconds. Support infill/interface line directions. Improve reliability with more precise control over certain aspects of your print. The gcode file sliced using Cura 14.09 - The gcode file sliced using Cura 15.04.6. I am interested in this because I can see the potential to increase the speed to 100 mm/s or even more and keep the wall and top/bottom speeds at say 50mm/s and not loose any quality but reduce the time.Align faces to the build plate easier than before Normally if I were to print at 20 mm/s instead of 50 mm/s then I would reduce the nozzle temperature. However isn't there a problem with nozzle temperature?

I can understand that reducing the speed for the walls and the top/bottom should improve the print quality.

I'll definitely look at that and see if that is where the delay is. Setting those to 50 will improve print speed from 46 min to 24 min. Cura 2.1 uses wall speed of 40, outer /inner wall of 30 and top/bottom speed of 20. I don't even think there are much retractions in this print.Ĭhanging the top/bottom does have a dramatic impact. Įnabling retraction doesn't save any time. Many thanks to anyone who can shed some light onto this. However if anyone is interested in looking into this here are some files. Het werkt met alle UltiMaker-printers, maar ook met die van RepRap en Printrbot. OK, sorry it has taken me so long to sort out the files. You can't post them here so post them in dropbox or some other web site that you have control over (preferably not something that will only host the files for a month). Note that Cura 4.8 is very different from 15.04. It might still work, but it might be less predictable. From version 4.9 onwards, Cura updated Qt to 5.15, which dropped support for versions earlier than MacOS 10.13. Really the entire gcode files need be posted as that will include any scaling you did, multiple objects, and will include all settings. The latest version of Cura that is supported for your computer is version 4.8. Well if you want someone to fix this, please post an STL and the 2 gcode files created so someone can analyze what is different and maybe make an improvement to the latest cura.
